Christopher Pyett: Years of Colour

The walls of the Elisabeth Murdoch Gallery will come alive with *Christopher Pyett: Years of Colour*, a major exhibition showcasing a series of abstract paintings created by the acclaimed Australian artist over the past five years.

Renowned for his exceptional understanding of colour theory and his intuitive response to the rhythm, movement and character of colour, Pyett continues to produce work of remarkable vitality and depth. Each painting reflects decades of artistic enquiry, experimentation and a lifelong commitment to abstraction.

Now aged 82, Pyett remains dedicated to his practice, painting daily in his Pearcedale studio. His disciplined and meditative approach continues to fuel an ongoing exploration of colour, composition and visual expression.

Spanning more than six decades, Pyett's distinguished exhibition history has established him as one of Australia's most senior and accomplished abstract painters. *Years of Colour* offers audiences the opportunity to experience a dynamic body of recent work that demonstrates both the maturity of a master artist and the enduring curiosity that continues to drive his practice.

Rich, expressive and exuberant, the exhibition celebrates a remarkable career while highlighting the creative energy that remains at the heart of Christopher Pyett's work.
