Melbourne Diwali Festival 2026 @ Marvel

Melbourne Diwali

From 2pm to 10pm the square transforms into Melbourne's most prominent Diwali celebration: a full afternoon and evening of live performance, with 40 dance groups from across Victoria taking the stage in the Melbourne Diwali Dance Competition across three age categories, from primary school groups through to senior and adult performers.

Join in yourself with crowd dance workshops in Bhangra, Garba and Bollywood, then stay on for the live DJ as the lights come up.

Around the square you will find festive stalls, henna, face painting and, new for 2026, astrology and astro talk, plus celebrity chef masterclasses and a fully vegetarian food market with food trucks.

Melbourne Diwali is alcohol-free, family-friendly and fully wheelchair accessible, with the main areas under cover. Bring the whole family, bring your friends, and come dressed for the occasion.
