Is there any better learning experience (and fun!) than to ride around a traffic school?
While a number of Traffic Schools have gone (Carlton Gardens), there are still a few operating in Victoria. If you know of others, please let us know.
We recently visited the Kew Traffic School for a kids party. Our son thoroughly enjoyed riding around for two hours. Run by the City of Boroondara, it has traffic lights and crossings, buildings, footpaths and roads, some showing signs of years of wear and tear.
The Kew Traffic School has provided a safe environment for children to learn road safety for over 40 years and offers children the chance to gain confidence and skills in a fun setting, away from the normal dangers on our roads.
The International Power Traffic School (was Valstar) in Morwell recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with the Kristy Olsen Bike Ed Challenge, a barbecue lunch and birthday cake. It is predominantly used by primary school children for traffic and bicycle safety education and is an important educational asset for the youth of Gippsland.
