WINNER 2006 Melbourne Cup - DELTA BLUES (2) |
The winner of the 2006 Melbourne Cup is: No: 2 : Delta Blues
Melbourne Cup Day is Australia's most famous Tuesday. It's a day when a nation stops whatever it's doing to listen to the race call, or watch the race on TV, and even those who don't usually bet buy a ticket in a sweep.
Over 100 thousand people packed Flemington to watch another sensational race. The roar as they passed the stand the first time rivalled the first bounce at the grand final.
Overcast cloudy skies.
Equal favourites to start race: Tawqeet (unplaced) & Pop Rock (Second)
