Newsletter | #272 | What's On this Week |
Welcome to this week's Melbourne events, exhibitions, sports and community guide for
Tuesday to Monday, March 20 to 26, 2012.
This week... There's plenty to poke an itinerary at this week with festivals spread far and wide. Further afield near Bendigo you'll find the Seven Sisters Women's Festival celebrating womanhood in all its glory, while in Lara there's a fine shindig celebrating food with Matt Preston as guest and judge for an enormous cook-off.
And with many a community festival in places such as Banyule, Brimbank and Mooroolbark, there's also Cultural Diversity Week offering a great range of events showcasing cultures from around the globe.
Lastly, with a thinly veiled apology for a late Newsletter out of the way (that was it just now, in case you missed it) I'd like to say that I've just finished the aforementioned Newsletter and, boy, is my keyboard tired!
I'm feeling a little drained myself and it's either the looming fact of turning 39 this weekend or it's the ongoing grind of Mad March... Either way, all I really want for my birthday right now is April.

It's A Long Way To The Top.. Possums!
Melbourne's love affair with its laneways is displayed no better than in the naming of two well-known laneways, ACDC Lane - renamed in memory of one of Australia's most successful musical exports, and Dame Edna Place which was crowded with interested lunchtime "possums"for the launch on March 08, 2007.
Among the many other names of Melbourne's laneways are the colourfully titled, Exploration Lane, and for the romantic at heart Melbourne also plays host to Romeo Alley and Juliet Alley.
