Set in a wide sprawling venue of near warehouse proportions, Auction Rooms is a welcome alternative to the multimillion-dollar restaurants popping up around Melbourne's inner city.
Decor consists of organ-pipe lampshades made of lengths of poly-pipe, a bar-front built from the doors of old Kooyong tennis players lockers and other stumbled upon furnishings and features.
The menu covers all basics, stretching to the richer palette.
