Bairnsdale Racecourse lies in a fantastic position in the town of Bairnsdale in the East Gippsland region of Victoria. The circuit is approximately 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne along the Princess Highway past other racing communities such as Sale and Moe.
It's the eastern gateway to Mouth Hotham and given it's located about halfway between Melbourne and the east coast border with New South Wales Bairnsdale serves a thriving racing community.

Bairnsdale Racing Club
The Bairnsdale Racing Club was established in 1862 and is located within East Gippsland region, renowned for its beautiful coastline, extensive lakes and river system and its famous high country which are all on the door step of the Bairnsdale Racing Club.
Established at a time the Bairnsdale Shire was in fact the biggest in Victoria, the Bairnsdale Racing Club is held in high regard amongst the Victorian racing community and is one of the state's (and country's) oldest thoroughbred organisations.
Holding meets seven times per year, the Bairnsdale Racing Club's schedule is without doubt highlighted by Bairnsdale Cup Day, contested on the first Sunday of October each year. Offering a prize pool of $50,000, the Bairnsdale Cup is competed over a mile (1600m) and is known for drawing notable horses, jockeys and trainer from major metropolitan tables; the 2014 edition highlighted by the inclusion of Group 1 Queensland Derby second Pinstripe Lane.
Bairnsdale Racecourse is located on the junction of Racecourse Rd and Forge Creek Road in Bairnsdale.
