Situated in the heart of Victoria's bushranger country, the Benalla Art Gallery occupies a striking modernist building by the lake.
The gallery presents an exhibition program of Australian and international art in the Bennett Gallery, in addition to the permanent collection which includes elements of the region's history and recounting an Australian-European settlement story. The collection continues to develop with recent acquisitions including outstanding Indigenous works and contemporary media postmodernist works.
The Gallery is open every day from 10am - 4pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The Gallery opens at 1pm on Anzac Day. The Cafe is open from 9am - 4pm on the same days that the Gallery is open.
The Benalla Art Gallery's Collection of International and Australian art is always free to view. Admission fees may apply for some temporary exhibitions. Please view the exhibition page for admission prices, or contact our information staff on 03 5760 2619 (9am-5pm daily).
