May 15, 2018 - A fire has gutted Bimbo Deluxe. Twenty-four firefighters were called to battle the blaze, with the fire setting the second floor of the popular Fitzroy hangout alight at 1.30am.
No one was trapped or hurt, with firefighters later being able to contain the blaze.
Investigators are currently working to establish the source of the fire.

The transformation of former institution the Punter's Club, Bimbo Deluxe is a trendy retro bar/cafe/pub in the ever-so-cool Brunswick Street.
Dim lighting, busy central bar, couches with live DJs spinning decent, loud music on the one side, and top it off with restaurant tables on the other which have a view onto the pizza maker.
Beer Garden - Bimbo Deluxe's large rooftop courtyard is enjoyed by many.
It's popular, and you can see why: a funky blend, a pool table, cheap pizzas, and busy vibe are mixed together well. It's a 'happening' place - where you'd warm up, not wind down. A speciality of Bimbo Deluxe is the 'chilled infused vodkas'.. strawberry or chocolate vodka.
