Headstone inscriptions from the Bundalong Public Cemetery, near Yarrawonga, Victoria.

Very little attention appears to have been given to the headstones, and some were completely indecipherable.

The following inscriptions were noted from graves in a paddock by the roadside. Additional information on the CAMERON family, has kindly been supplied by Collindy Cameron

Sacred To The Memory Of Thomas Cameron who departed this life at Peechelba 29th August 1885 aged 56 .

Mary CAMERON. The Beloved Wife Of Thomas Cameron who died 8th September 1915 aged 83 years.
inserted by her sons A. & J.D. Cameron also Mary & Ada Daughters of A. & M. Cameron.

Notes on above. Thomas Cameron born c 1823, either Alvie or Kingussie, Inverness, Scotland Mary Cameron, maiden name McPherson, born 20 January 1839 at Acharacle, Ardnamurchan, Argyll, Scotland. "A"Cameron, is their son Archibald Cameron, "J.D"Cameron is their son, James Donald Cameron Ada and Mary are 2 of their granddaughters Ada Margaret Cameron born 1906 Yarrawonga, Vic, died 1906, Yarrawonga,Vic, age 5months Mary Ellen Cameron birth registered 1905 Yarrawonga, Vic, died 1907, Yarrawonga, Vic age 3 years. Both daughters of Archibald Cameron and Mary Cameron, maiden name Weaver.

James Donald CAMERON.
In Remembrance Of James Donald Cameron Who Died 20th September 1903 Aged 46 Years. Erected by His Brother A. Cameron.

Archibald CAMERON.
In Memory of My Beloved Husband And Our Dear Father Archibald Cameron Died 2nd April 1941 Aged 76 Years.
Also Of Mary Cameron Wife of Archibald Cameron Died January 1945 Aged 67.
Notes on above. Archibald Cameron born 1865, Modewarre, Vic, died Yarrawonga, Victoria. Father Thomas Cameron, mother Mary McPherson. Mary Cameron, maiden name Weaver, born 1878, Sandy Creek, Lake Rowan, Vic, died 30 Jan 1945, Bundalong, Vic. father William Weaver, mother Catherine Tooey (Toohey).

Edward James CAMERON.
In Memory Of Edward James Cameron Son of Archibald and Mary Cameron Died April 1943 Age 48 Years Late AIF 1914-1918
Notes on above. Edward James Cameron born 1895, Mulwala, NSW, death registered Melbourne. Father Archibald Cameron, mother Mary Cameron, maiden name Weaver.

Allan CAMERON.
In Memory Of Allan Cameron 1898-1976 also William Cameron 1897-1958 57 Btn 1st AIF Sons of Mary & Arch. RIP.
Notes on above. Allan Cameron born 1898, Yarrawonga, Victoria died 29 Nov 1976, at Bundalong, Vic. Father Archibald Cameron and Mary Cameron, maiden name Weaver. William John Cameron born 1897 at Henty, NSW, birth registered Yarrawonga, Vic. Died 8 August 1958 at Boorahman, Victoria. William is not buried in this grave, he is buried in the Wangaratta Cemetery. The inscription is a memorial to him.

Donald CAMERON.
In Loving Memory Of Donald Cameron Died 6th March 1971. Aged 70 Years Son of Archibald & Mary Husband of Janet Father of Douglas, Jean, Heather & Keith. At Rest.
Notes on above. Donald Cameron born 9 August 1900, Yarrawonga, Victoria. Father Archibald Cameron, mother Mary Cameron, maiden name Weaver. Wife is Janet Caroline Adam. Not buried here. No further info.

Keith Malcolm CAMERON.
In Loving Memory Of Keith Malcom Cameron Son of Donald & Janet Grandson of Archibald & Mary Great Grandson of Thomas & Mary Born 18th August 1949 Died 20th July 1969.
Notes on above. All dates and relationships, self explanatory. I have no further info on him.

Thomas Alexander Cameron, is also buried at Bundalong Cemetery. Born 29 Apr 1907, Bundalong South, Vic. Died 28 August 1996, Wangaratta, Vic. Buried, 30 August 1996 at Bundalong Cemetery. Father Archibald Cameron, mother Mary Cameron, maiden name Weaver.
