Established in 1998, Cafe Lalibela is one of the oldest Ethiopian restaurants in Melbourne.

It is not just a restaurant, cafe and bar, it is also an institution that represents the best of Ethiopia in food and beverage as well as in the culture of the East African nation.

In 2003, we took the initiative to import 3 brands of Ethiopian beer to Australia for the first time and the beers have become very popular since. We pride ourselves on being among the best African restaurants not only in Melbourne but also in the whole of Australia.

Ethiopia has diverse cultures and unique traditions which are practiced in the country on a daily basis. And Cafe Lalibela is designed to be a home away from home for Africans and an exotic place for Australians without having to fly out of the country.
