Civil Twilight End |
Striking for the first time last night, Civil Twilight End is a bronze bell devised by artists Kate Daw and Stewart Russell that will ring each day at the end of civil twilight - when the sun has dipped below the horizon but the sky is still light.
'A bell tolling at this romantic, even melancholic, time of day introduces a heightened sense of belonging to the Docklands community,' Daw says.
The artwork is part of the $15 million Docklands integrated arts program, which sees 1 per cent of Docklands' development costs going towards urban art.
