Collingwood Town Hall

Collingwood Town Hall Collingwood Town Hall

Officially opened in 1887, Collingwood Town Hall boasts impressive 19th century gold rush style classical design.

The centrepiece of this grand building is its ballroom, which is available for hire.

The ballroom is ideal for theatre performances, musical productions, and warehouse sales.

The foyer entry and interior of the ballroom were refurbished in Art Deco style in 1938. In 2014, the Collingwood Town Hall had an extensive renovation to bring it into line with with occupation health and safety requirements, the Disability Discrimination Act and the Building Code of Australia.

The ballroom space can hold 500 people in the hall and 300 in the balcony.

After the amalgamation of the City of Collingwood with the Cities of Fitzroy and Richmond in 1994 to form the City of Yarra, the Town Hall now functions as secondary offices, service centre and library servicing the Collingwood area for the City of Yarra.

Parking

There is limited street parking in adjoining streets. Yarra City Council actively monitor parking spaces (including sensors) 24 hours a day and will fine vehicles parking illegally. Make sure you arrive early and find a parking space that allows parking.
