Corner Hotel Turns 30 - '30 Years Young'

This October, The Corner Hotel will celebrate '30 Years Young' the only way it knows how: with a six-week series of shows and events featuring artists who've helped write The Corner's story, alongside the next wave making their own mark.

For three decades, The Corner Hotel has stood at the heart of Melbourne's live music scene. It's watched breakout bands become household names, welcomed hometown heroes before they filled arenas, hosted international icons and given generations of music lovers a place to discover their next favourite band. It's been home to plenty of pre-gig beers, post-footy celebrations and countless "I was there" moments. Through it all, it's remained proudly independent, proudly loud and one of the best places in the country to see a band.

To mark the milestone, The Corner has also teamed up with Carlton Draught on a limited-edition merchandise collection inspired by the venue's iconic bandroom carpet. Featuring a sweater, beanie, socks and bar runner, the range gives regulars and music fans the chance to take a piece of one of Melbourne's most beloved venues home with them.

Artists on the lineup include Bodyjar, Meg Washington, The Buoys, Milly Strange, Garage Sale, Kingswood and many more.

The celebrations continue throughout the month with free Front Bar DJ sets, The Corner Rewind trivia, Drag Bingo, Country Struts boot scooting classes and a host of one-off events celebrating the venue's place at the heart of Melbourne's live music community.

For 30 years, The Corner has been more than a venue. It's been a meeting place for artists, crews, promoters and punters. A place where careers have started, lifelong friendships have formed and unforgettable nights have unfolded. Some people found their favourite band here. Others played their first show here. Thousands have stories that begin with the words, "I saw them at The Corner..."
