Courthouse Youth Arts Centre |
Our building is a happy traffic of people and ideas.
Located just two blocks from the Geelong City Centre, COURTHOUSE YOUTH ARTS has a wide range of rooms to enable you to PRACTICE, PERFORM, PLAN or PLAY.
Geelong possesses exciting emerging film makers, visual artists and performers. It has a rich history in music and surf culture, this new artistic program will harness this heritage and provide a platform for new arts action in this city.
In order to create outstanding work, there must be a community of trust and encouragement. We want to grow a new culture of creation and in order to do this COURTHOUSE YOUTH ARTS must feed the needs of existing artists to show that it is possible to live a creative life in regional Victoria.
Our spaces suit a wide variety of uses and are all housed within the heritage listed Old Geelong Courthouse Building on the corner of Gheringhap and Little Malop Street. Our refurbished building maintains the façade of its art-deco past, neatly hiding welcoming and exciting contemporary architecture inside.
The spaces within COURTHOUSE YOUTH ARTS have windows that open, heating and cooling systems and we have a fully-equipped black box theatre hidden in the old Magistrates court room!
Our venue staff are here to help and always happy to discuss your event needs.
This venue is proudly drug, smoke and alcohol free.
