Built in 1844, The Croxton has been serving the locals and visitors of Thornbury for decades.
Known for being an old school pub, our spacious Bistro has been updated to fit the box of your local. We're dedicated to bringing you delicious food in our Bistro, a spacious dining area where you can share a meal with loved ones while enjoying a drop or two. Our Bistro Bar is stocked with a huge selection of ice cold beer on tap, and a well rounded list of spirits, wine and cider from premium Victorian suppliers.
Sometime in the mid-twentieth century, a huge ballroom was built onto the back of the pub. It became one of Melbourne's most successful live music venues in the seventies and eighties - literally anyone who was anyone played at 'The Croc' in those days, from ACDC and Skyhooks to Rose Tattoo, INXS, Men at Work, Mondo Rock and Midnight Oil.
Decades later, The Croxton has remained one of the top music venues in the country, providing locals and visitors of Thornbury with quality live music.
Our bar and lounge area offer a relaxing atmosphere, with a range of local & imported wines and beers to choose from. It's also the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks, light snack or coffee and cake.
Looking for somewhere to have an elegant meal, why not try our 200 seat bistro open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Our Sportsbar can suit to anyone's needs; you can just relax and have a quiet drink, watch the footy on our large plasma screen or if you fancy a bit of punt try one of our three operating TAB terminals with two electronic betting terminals.
We also have a BWS Bottleshop that offers some great weekly specials. Open from 10am 7 days a week.
