Dromkeen Gallery- Australian Children's Literature Centre, Gallery, Function Centre & Tearoom
Dromkeen is a world famous historic homestead, featuring original Australian book illustration.
Our tearoom serves delicious home made food and quality coffee and tea. We provide educational programs for visiting schools, gallery tours for other groups and also provide facilities for business functions, weddings, birthday parties & other special occasions.
Built in 1889, Dromkeen was once the country estate of Judge Arthur Chomley and later became home to the world famous Dromkeen Picture Book Art Collection.
Nestled in the Macedon ranges in the tiny hamlet of Riddell's Creek, Dromkeen is only 30 minutes drive from Melbourne Airport. This stately National Trust home has beautiful gardens with a range of Australian native and European plants, a gazebo and two resident peacocks.
Guests to Dromkeen are able to visit our Tea Room, browse in the galleries or wander around the beautiful gardens which have trees more than 100 years old, some listed on the National Trust register.
The Dromkeen collection of books has been given to the State library of Victoria
