Situated at the Windy Hill precinct, the Hall of Fame celebrates the history and achievements of the mighty Bombers, from 1872 to the present day.

1871 Essendon Football Club formed
1891 Essendon wins first of four consecutive VFA premierships.
1897 Essendon wins the first VFL premiership.
1901 Essendon wins second premiership beating Collingwood by 27 points
1911 Essendon wins 3rd premiership.
1912 Essendon wins its 4th premiership.
1923 Essendon wins premiership.
1924 Essendon wins second successive premiership.
1949 Club wins premiership beating Carlton by 73 points
1993 Club wins 15th premiership, over favourites Carlton
2000 Club wins 16th Premiership and loses only once in 25 games.

2013 Supplements Scandal


The biggest story in AFL history saw an investigation into Essendon players being given a range of supplements to improve performance and increase recovery times duing 2011-2012. It was deemed the program was poorly managed and monitored due to a lack of care by Essendon officials and coaching staff. In August 2013, the AFL commission handed down the harshest penalty in its history.

The Essendon Football Club was fined $2m. The coach James Hird was suspended for 12 months. Other officials were fined. Essendon Football Club lost its 2013 premiership points and demoted to 9th position.
