Eynesbury Homestead

Eynesbury Homestead

Eynesbury Homestead is a bluestone homestead built for Samuel Thomas Staughton dating from the early 1870s.

The single storied bay windowed side wings date from the 1880s as does probably the concave timber verandah. Quoins, widows walk and the eaves detailing are features. Construction is in coursed bluestone with hipped corrugated iron roofs and stuccoed chimneys.

Eynesbury Homestead, Melton South, is a distinctive and unusual homestead, architecturally important and has also historical associations with the Staughton family who settled the area in 1841.

Eynesbury is an excellent example of a ninetenth century homestead with associated outbuildings. The original two storey section is in a Colonial Georgian style whilst the later wings are Victorian.

Eynesbury Golf Course

With such an historic and visually arresting backdrop, the creation of Eynesbury Golf Course called for something special. And Graham Marsh has delivered the unexpected.

A renowned international course designer, Graham has used the experience garnered through over 60 professional tournament victories on the world tour to produce a classic championship layout. As the designer of leading Australian courses such as Palm Meadows and Robina Woods on the Gold Coast, The Vines in WA and Terry Hills in Sydney, he has managed to combine wide fairways with extensive bunkering and water features to produce an immensely playable course for golfers of any standard.

Homestead Café

The Homestead Cafe offers lunch every day with a menu designed to offer great value. Our home style meals include all day breakfasts, light snacks and more substantial fare. The Homestead Restaurant is also open for dining on Friday Nights.

A hearty meal and welcome are assured and the atmosphere in the 1870's bluestone historic homestead is memorable.
