Fed Square's Big Screen Since launching in 2002, the screen has become one of Melbourne's best-known public gathering points, broadcasting major sporting events and some of the city's biggest shared moments. In 2026 the Big Screen was transformed with a high-tech upgrade designed to improve image quality and make it easier for independent creators, artists and community groups to showcase their work in the heart of Melbourne. The new screen features 2.6 million pixels across 116 square metres of high-resolution LED display, with a new ultra-wide format allowing for more flexible programming and creative configurations. The Big Screen can only be seen at Fed Square (not online).
