Fox Galleries |
Michael Fox is Director of Fox Galleries and the Principal of Michael Fox Arts Accountant & Valuer.
The gallery was established by Fox in Brisbane in 1998. With a focus on exhibiting independent artists in a commercial context, Fox Galleries first delved into underground culture through music, literature and street art. In 2006 Michael was appointed Queensland Curator of Joel Fine Art, the only secondary market dealer in that State. Joel Fine Art was sold to Bonhams in 2008 and the following year he relocated to Melbourne to provide art market advisory services to select clients.
Fox Galleries reopened in 2016 in the Collingwood arts precinct with the same aptitude for specifically selected artists exploring Australia's cultural identity in conversation with international heritage.
Michael relocated his Melbourne practice and the gallery exhibition spaces to 63-67 Wellington Street, Collingwood in 2020, thus realising his vision of unifying a professional practice with an art gallery at the same location.
Fox Galleries represents local and internationally based artists, who have their artworks in private and institutional collections. Fox Galleries promotes excellence in the arts through the production of exploratory work, art publication and the participation in Art Fairs.
