Galahad's Animal Sanctuary |
Galahad's Animal Sanctuary is set on 30 acres and is an animal rescue sanctuary in Gisborne.
Galahad's Animal Sanctuary has rescued many animals, including camels, horses, cows, sheep, alpacas, chickens and a rooster as well as dogs.
We currently have 40 animals on site, but have rescued over 58 so far. When you stay with us, all proceeds go to the feed and care of all the animals at Galahad's Sanctuary. We will provide you with a small free tour of the sanctuary at no additional charge.
Our Mission is Compassion
Galahad's Sanctuary has a genuine love and respect for all animals. Galahad's Sanctuary was started 5 years ago by Lynne McAlister. Lynne was inspired by her beloved Irish Wolfhound, Galahad. She learnt first-hand the difference animals make in the lives of people when doing pet therapy at the Royal Children's Hospital and seeing the impact her beloved Galahad had on the children and nurses he visited. His pure love and that of many animals since, have inspired the quest to seek a harmonious and sustainable way to tread lightly on our planet and ecosystem using a plant based diet.
Galahad's Animal Sanctuary
The property has two dams, it is well treed with large open spaces and has a beautiful view to Mount Macedon. Kangaroos, Possums and Echidna's also live here.
You will be able to walk around the property, however please stay out of the animal paddocks without supervision, as there are large animals such as horses and camels in these paddocks.
Please note this is a working farm environment, it sometimes can be messy and smell like animals. Animals can be noisy e.g. a rooster who crows in the morning, and a camel who growls when she is pleased to see you.
Please remember to ensure the gates are always closed behind you.
