Grey Gardens |
Grey Gardens Projects is a gallery, project space, coffee bar + larder and the new
permanent home of Speakeasy Cinema.
Grey Gardens is a mixed-use project space in Fitzroy, Melbourne, established to house the formerly itinerant picture house, Speakeasy Cinema, which was never supposed to be just a room with a cinema screen.
We are rapt that Ghita has finally launched the home of Speakeasy Cinema.
In 2009, Ghita Loebenstein launched Speakeasy Cinema. Since then, Speakeasy Cinema has presented films, performances and parties with ACMI, ACCA and the Capital Theatre.
Now the boutique cinema house has a fixed address. Named after the 1975 American documentary, this refurbished warehouse space in Fitzroy will host the culturally eccentric in the way the derelict mansion of its namesake once did.
Tue to Sat 8am-4pm (cafe) & 10am-6pm (gallery)
Entrance to the cafe before 10am is rear 51 Victoria Street, Fitzroy.
