The latest edition to Richmond's ever evolving and so-hot-right-now Swan St, Harry Juku's is a huge departure from other venues in the area with its full blown Tokyo underground inspired fit out, sake cocktails and quirky features.
This premium cocktail bar and lounge hasn't done things by halves: foot spa booths, a hidden VIP room with a dry spa and floor to ceiling wooden finish befitting a Japanese bath house, Japanese style vending machines with random Japanese knick knacks for sale, and even an outdoor smoking area with views onto bustling Swan Street that is set up like a Japanese train interior, complete with bright pink, yellow and blue seat coverings to top things off.
Harry Juku's is open Thursday through to Saturday from 5pm, and can cater for functions from 15 to 200, from a small private area to exclusive hire of the whole venue.
Like the Shibuya opium dens and bath houses run by the mysterious Harry Juku in years past, the venue that bears his name may be open to the public when you visit, could also be hosting an underground sake tasting, private function, or secret party by disreputable politicians and might even be showing classic films of the Japanese cinema scene. What can be guaranteed is a wide range of cocktails including creative uses of sake, Japanese beers, premium spirits and nightly specials.
