The three arts groups participating are the Association of Sculptors of Victoria, Valley Potters and the Contemporary Art Society of Victoria.

The expansiveness of our gallery spaces means we can ensure the recommended social distancing between visitors, and all visitors should practice good hygiene in our gallery with hand-washing facilities available at the venue.

We request anyone who is unwell or has recently travelled overseas to avoid the gallery completely.

Against the Odds

The exhibition is open from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm on the weekends of 16, 17 | 23, 24, 26 | 30, 31 January | 6, 7 February

An exhibition of smaller sculpture reflective of place and narrative in sculpture and on the island.
After a tumultuous 2020 Herring Island invites to you respite and peace. In a small gallery in this bush setting the 16th Herring Island Summer Arts Festival will be held from 16th January to the 5th April 2021

On the first day of the exhibition we will offer COVID19 safe hospitality in the courtyard. Also under COVID19 restrictions visitors to the gallery are requested to register - either using the QR code with your smartphone or paper registrations. Records will be retained for 28 days only. Masks will be worn in the gallery but are not required in the courtyard where refreshments - single serve- will be available.

Always very popular, sculptors will be present to answer questions. The exhibition will be supported by an online exhibition of the work so you can extend your time looking at the work.

This will be great opportunity to see some small sculptural works as well as the permanent works scattered around the Island. Enjoy the short walk and perhaps a BBQ or Picnic. Bring the family.
After the exhibition closes images of the works will be on the ASV web site in the exhibitions section.

Access to Herring Island Environmental Sculpture Park & Gallery is by Parks Victoria's punt service which operates on weekends and on Australia Day from 11am to 5:00pm from the Como Landing (Melway Map 2M C2).
