Kolache Cravings Cafe & Bakery | Review

If you're looking for something a little different for brekky, brunch or lunch I recommend you pop into Kolache Cravings, a family-run bakery in High Street Preston offering tasty morsels that originate from Eastern Europe.

Kolache are savoury or sweet treats, encased in a roll very similar to a brioche bun but with less sugar, which was a pleasant surprise.

The day we visited we tried bacon, egg and cheese, chorizo and cheese, and lamb with rosemary (my personal favourite). They are warmed up and delivered light and fluffy, with exceptional coffee from Fox Rascals. Only free range eggs are used, as well as chemical-free, free range meats. Everything is made from scratch and baked on the premises.

On weekends you can enjoy sweet Kolache and on offer currently are apple, caramel and plum poppy with cream cheese. During the week you can sample homemade delights such as croissants, pastries and cakes that include cinnamon scrolls, fruit Danish and raisin escargot.

They make the most delicious smoothies as well as organic teas. It is a dog friendly bakery with plenty of seating inside and outside as well as a secret garden at the rear, and on $10 Tuesdays you can enjoy two Kolache with a delicious regular coffee.
