Manningham Art Gallery |
With an eclectic program of contemporary art exhibitions, our gallery offers curated group and touring exhibitions from local and international artists.
Manningham Art Gallery is the City of Manningham's major contemporary art venue. Its main focus is the contemporary exhibition program which encompasses a broad range of visual arts practices including painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, photography, installation and multi-media artworks.
The Gallery was established as a public gallery in 1985 in the municipal offices by the Doncaster and Templestowe Arts Association with strong support from the City of Doncaster and Templestowe. Management of the Gallery was handed over to Manningham City Council in 1997 and in 2001 was relocated to a purpose-built space in the new Function Centre at the Manningham City Council Offices.
In mid-2012 Manningham Art Gallery relocated to a new space within the five-star rated Manningham City Square. Comprising two exhibition spaces, the new Gallery provides opportunities for a diverse mix of exhibitions and is a major focal point for arts and cultural activities in the Manningham community.
Manningham Art Gallery is founded on a strong commitment to bringing the arts to the local community, providing a quality space for artists (including local) to exhibit and an opportunity for the community to enjoy and interact with art and artists in a relaxed environment.
Admission to the Gallery is free
