Melbourne Ballpark

The Melbourne Ballpark, also known as the State Baseball Softball Centre is the home of Baseball and Softball in Victoria.

The State Baseball Softball Centre was opened in January 1990, by the Minister for Sport, the Honourable Neil Tresize.

It has a unique hydraulic pitchers mound that can be lowered into the ground when Softball is being played, and raised for Baseball.

The artificial surface gives a true bounce no matter what weather conditions are prevailing, and is some 2200 square metres in area.

The centre is available for hire by interested parties, for Softball, Baseball, or any other sport, or for functions that may require such a facility.

With a capacity of 2400, Melbourne Ballpark is located at the West Gate Freeway/Western Ring Road/Princes Freeway interchange, an easy drive from the CBD, and has ample parking for fans.

Public Transit can also be taken to the ballpark, as the Werribee Line from Flinders Street station takes 30 minutes to Laverton station. It is about a 10-minute walk from the station to the ballpark.
