Melbourne Bike Trails |
One of the best ways to view the real Melbourne is by bicycle on one of the fabulous bike trails.
EXPLORE BY BIKE
MAIN YARRA TRAIL
Starting at Southbank, ride along the Yarra riverfront to Hawthorn and Richmond, eventually arriving at the Collingwood Children's Farm and Abbotsford Convent for a coffee or meal.
LILYDALE TO WARBURTON RAIL TRAIL
Ride through countryside past Mount Donna Buang on this gravel trail, which is relatively easy to access by catching a train to Lilydale.
LYSTERFIELD PARK
One for mountain biking, although a hybrid bike will manage it. There are a number of different routes around the park, including the 2006 Commonwealth Games mountain-bike course.
WESTERFOLDS PARK
Turn a ride along the Yarra Trail into a day trip by continuing through Collingwood to Bulleen and Templestowe. The Heide Art Gallery is nearby and Westerfolds Park offers mountain-bike trails as well.
