Mentone Activity Hub |
The reconstruction of the Mentone Senior Citizens building, 29 Venice Street Mentone, has provided a new 'fit for purpose' shared-use facility for the Turkish Seniors group, Probus Club of Mentone, as well as the relocated Mentone-Mordialloc Arts Group (MMAG).
The project had strong community support with MMAG contributing financially to the project in exchange for a 9 year lease for an exclusive part of the facility. The official opening of the new Mentone Activity Hub will be held on June 9th
Construction of the new Activity Hub commenced in mid 2015, and is now completed. The existing aged Mentone Mordialloc Art Group building will be decommissioned following the Group's move across to the new facility.
Council committed $1.4m to this project. Tyquin Architects were appointed for the design work and construction works were carried out by Cellstruct Building Group.
