Husband and wife team Stephen and Ute Mercer operate Mercer's Restaurant from this Federation style cottage, surrounded by a wide verandah and a cottage garden, situated in the tree lined gateway to the leafy suburb of Eltham, in Melbourne's north east.
The interior is warm and elegant with subtle tones and a friendly and welcoming feel, that also reflects the attitude of the staff and approach to the food. With white linen clothed tables adorned with Riedel glassware and Villeroy & Boch crockery, Mercer's offers a stylish dining environment.
The Modern Australian menu is precisely executed yet imaginative, thanks to Stephen Mercer's classical European training. The food reflects intelligent and creative use of the finest seasonal ingredients in eclectic, contemporary and classic dishes that surprise and delight.
