Born into a family of vaudevillians and opera singers Conway's life as an entertainer began on the 70's with Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band originally called Jelly Bean Jug Band in 1968 at Camberwell High School. To their surprise it became a cult phenomenon recording seven records two of which achieved gold status. The band recently appeared on Classic Countdown re-runs.
Wearing several hats Conway co-founded Circus Oz 40 years ago in 1978. Mic also joined the legendary Pram Factory Theatre in Melbourne creating Soapbox Circus where he was ringmaster musician juggler and acrobat. In 1978 Soapbox became the now world famous Circus Oz. In 1997 21 years ago Mic formed his current 5-piece jug and blues act Mic Conway's National Junk Band.
Conway is also a long-term children's entertainer touring his extraordinary one man shows to over 200 schools and community events across Australia each year. Mic has appeared on shows such as Humphrey B. Bear (on which he was known as 'Magic Mic') Play School Mr. Squiggle and ABC 4 Kids. Conway was a regular part of The Wiggles where he provided the voice of Wags the Dog for the TV series in the 1990s and 2000s co-wrote songs and made appearances on various videos including the group's feature movie. His children's album Whoopee (ABC Music) was awarded an ARIA for Best Children's Album.
Stripped back irreverent and shameless Conway's show features hilarious and quirky tunes that make jaws drop toes tap and sides split including some Captain Matchbox favourites like My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes "National Junk Band" favourites with some of Mic's "Circus Oz" antics as well as a swag of Conway including "Jug Band Man" (which was featured on Spicks and Specks September 2011). Perfectly pitched In one tune he was able to pack in a lifetime of Cabaret. : Roy & H.G. ABC TV.

Some classic tin pan melodies some bizarre originals. The show is surreal vaudeville with a sense of humour. Croon to melt your ears.
