Miss Margaret is a cafe in the busy West Preston shopping strip serving all day breakfast, lunch, specialty coffee and tea.
Miss Margaret is a social enterprise caf© born out of a strong desire to help those in need.
Our aim is to bring like-minded people together over a cup of coffee and a delicious plate of food, so that collectively we can help even more people than any one individual could.
We are passionate about healthy & tasty food, helping women in developing countries access education, supporting refugees in their new life here & sustainability in business!
DONATING MONEY
We donate part of profits to charities and hold seasonal charity dinners where a portion of the ticket price gets donated to our two chosen charities.
EMPLOYMENT
Where possible, we employ & provide work experience to refugees to help them develop new skills and networks within the local community.
WHY
When women are educated their prospects are increased, overall family income is increased, it reduces the likelihood of ill health, decreases women and girls risk of trafficking and exploitation, and increases the economic advancement of entire countries.
Helping refugees in their new life here just makes sense to us because if we had to flee Australia, we would hope that other countries would be kind enough to help us start afresh!
SUSTAINABILITY
Miss Margaret was set up with sustainability in mind, all our disposable products are recyclable and or compostable or made from post-consumer recycled & pre-consumer recycled fibre. We recycle all dry recyclable products used in the cafe & customers pick up our fruit and vegetable scraps and coffee grinds to compost.
HEALTHY & TASTY
We use premium local products to ensure we provide a high quality product to our lovely customers. We use local, seasonal produce and specialty products from local suppliers!

OnlyMelbourne: April 2021 *****You'd be hard pressed to find a better cafe / coffee shop in Melbourne, let alone Preston or "West Preston" as locals like to call it.
Friendly staff, crazy good food, coffee is divine. Latte and long black.. yum, soup yum, everything was yum!
