Morris House

Morris House

Sitting on the corner of Exhibition & Little Collins Street, Morris House fuses Melbourne's love of the arts, city rooftop views and good food & wine across four levels.

Visit the NYC-inspired basement for Melbourne's best live comedy shows, enjoy a meal in the dining room, meet friends for after-work drinks & live music on level one, and finally, reach the leafy-green rooftop for city views and settle in for sociable snacks and nostalgic signature cocktails.

DINING ROOM
The Ground Floor Dining Room serves up a seasonal produce-driven menu, centered around tasty plates to share between friends. By day, dine on loaded bagels and burgers; by night, top-quality cured meats, tasty share plates and reimagined pub classics.

LEVEL ONE
Whether you're here to meet for after-work drinks, to dine with friends, or to let your hair down, the Level One Bar & Terrace is for good vibes and good fun. Complete with comfy booths and a sunny outdoor terrace, head on up for live music, on every weekend.

ROOFTOP
An open-air oasis in the heart of the city, head to the Rooftop for share-friendly plates alongside a complementary selection of easy-drinking wines, beers and spirits. Our signature cocktails are a playful mix of nostalgic classics reimagined (iced-vovo margarita, anyone?) plus a nod to classic New York heroes with a Melbourne twist.

Now Open: Morris House Is The All-New Four-Level Pub, Rooftop Bar And NYC-Inspired Comedy Lounge

Constructed back in 1924, the Morris House building has seen a lot in its almost century-long tenure on the corner of Little Collins and Exhibition Street.

Most recently operating as the European Bier Cafe, Morris House has now taken on its original moniker and has re-opened as a four-level dining, bar, pub, rooftop and comedy destination.

Spread across the four storeys the bold new venture from the Australian Venue Co team includes an elevated pub-style dining room, a bar and live music space, a rooftop bar that overlooks the CBD, and a dedicated comedy space downstairs.

On the dining front, Morris is combining the timeless pub classics with dialled-up essentials from a whole-crumbed pork rib eye to buttery prawn rolls and a decadent New York cheese with a Manhattan-cocktail infused jelly, ice cream and cherry.

Desserts aside, it's the basement that really sets Morris House apart from the rest, with a neon-lit lounge that's taken influences from New York institutions like the Comedy Strip and the Gotham Comedy Club, welcoming an array of local and international comics to the stage kicking off with a residency from acclaimed comic, Arj Baker.

"We're bringing all the best parts of Melbourne together in one place which means there will always be something to come and enjoy," said Venue Manager Dylan Howlett.

Designed in partnership with Red Design the all-new Morris House accommodates up to 550 guests across each level in total and is set to become a cultural precinct for the city.
