The Napier Hotel |
LIKE A BIG, WARM, FRIENDLY FITZROY HUG.
Opposite the Fitzroy Town Hall sits this ever-popular pub where a mish mash of old furniture keeps patrons comfy.
The Napier Hotel is located on the corner of Napier and Moor Streets in Fitzroy and is a local corner institution. At The Napier you will find great food, wine and music as well a great spot to watch the Football. Have a beer or wine in the front bar, eat some great food in one of the dining rooms, escape to the beer garden or sit by the open fire during a cold winter night.
The Napier Hotel first opened in 1866 and 130 years later in 1996 The Napier was taken over by Guy Lawson - an escaped bandit from Adelaide. Lawson - born into pubs in Adelaide by his father, had previously run the Great Britain in Richmond and the St. Andrews Hotel, before assuming the helm at The Napier.

The beer garden is quaint and narrow, in keeping with the Fitzroyness of the Napier itself.
