Yet sadly, even the finest Australian jockeys can suffer from serious injuries. Injuries that despite the protection of accident insurance can plunge jockeys and their families into financial hardship.

Luckily, The National Jockeys Trust can help...

We are a public charitable trust who is dedicated to providing funds and other benefits for the relief of financial difficulties for jockeys, apprentice jockeys and their families, when faced with serious injury, illness and even death.

Since 2004 we have helped over 200 jockeys and their families to escape financial hardship, and we can help you too to protect your family where accident insurance cannot.

Who are The National Jockeys Trust?

878 riders have lost their lives since the creation of Australian racing, and whilst accident insurance is an essential part of racing, it cannot always provide the protection jockeys need.

Fortunately, this no longer has to be the case...

Endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as an income tax exempt charity and as a deductible gift recipient, we are registered by the charitable organisations licensing agencies in all 8 States and Territories, meaning should illness, serious injury or sadly death of a jockey befall their families, we can provide them with the funding to remain financially secure.

Whilst all of our Grants of financial assistance are strictly governed by the Trust's Deed, we face a real challenge in raising the funds needed to make a real meaningful difference to those who qualify under the NJT's charter. Funds that can mean the difference between financial struggle and stability.
