National Steam Centre |
There are over 400 engines and associated exhibits in the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club exhibition sheds plus a fabulous miniature railway.
The Miniature Railway
The track runs for about 1km around the perimeter of the site passing the lake complete with numerous ducks and other water birds, cattle grazing on the near by farmland and museum machinery around the track.
Engines
The engines on display at the steam centre represent many years of collection and restoration efforts by the members. In addition to the engines owned by the club, a number of members privately owned engines are kept at the centre. There are tractors, earth moving machinery and industrial diesel engines as well as steam engines in the museum.
