Paragon | Melbourne |
Multiplex has been appointed to deliver Beulah International's $97 million apartment tower Paragon, located at 316-322 Queen Street in Melbourne's CBD.
Designed by architects Fender Katsalidis, the high-rise residential tower will span 48 levels and comprise 227 apartments in a range of one, two and three bedroom configurations.
Communal facilities and amenities will include a residents' lounge, private theatre, library and bar and dining areas. Residents will also have access to a 15 metre lap pool, spa and gymnasium and a multi-level landscaped terrace.
The luxury apartments will include floor-to-ceiling windows designed to capture natural light and allow panoramic views of Melbourne. Apartments will boast stylish timber floor boards and brushed metal surfaces with some residences including an ensuite, study and private balcony.
Paragon will also include a range of ESD features such as a rainwater harvesting system and photovoltaic solar panels.
Construction has commenced and is set for completion in July, 2020
A $200m tower in the CBD featuring two penthouses and an indoor "urban forest" is nearing completion.
Developer Beulah has announced the "topping out" of its 48-level Paragon building on the corner of Queen and La Trobe streets.
It is built above the historic Celtic Club hotel, which Beulah bought for $25.6m in 2016.
Designed by renowned architects Fender Katsalidis, the tower will have 227 apartments of one, two and three-bedroom units, and boast Australia's first indoor urban forest over three floors, created by noted landscape architect Paul Bangay.
"Comprising a selection of mature trees currently being grown to size in Queensland, leafy canopies, climbing gardens and grassy spaces will also complete this lush city sanctuary," Beulah said.
The tower has a blue and gold glass facade, while the heritage-listed Celtic Club exterior has been restored.
It will also feature flexible spaces for exercise, a movie theatre and private dining.
Beulah managing director Jiaheng Chan said it would be ready by the end of 2020.
"The topping out of Paragon signals a much greater achievement than just reaching its full height - it has kept workers employed through months of uncertainty," he said.
"The construction and development industry has months of headwinds still ahead, but Multiplex is doing a fantastic job of navigating such uncharted waters, while still delivering complex builds such as Paragon."
Other Beulah projects to be delivered in 2020 include Habitus Townhomes in South Melbourne and The Grounds of Kew. The developer also has a permit for the $2bn Southbank by Beulah project, which would be the nation's tallest building.
