Melbourne Sports Centres - Parkville is one of Australia's premier sporting venues offering sporting facilities and programs from grass roots to high-performance, international and Olympic level athletes.

More than 500,000 people a year play or watch netball, hockey and other events at the centre, with over 80 per cent of its users being female. The recently completed SNHC project provides more opportunities for women of all ages to get active and strive for the best, on and off the courts. The redevelopment had a strong focus on women and girls in sport which will kick start initiatives to drive change and grow female leadership in sport.

Previously known as The State Netball & Hockey Centre, it was built in 2001 the venue attracts around 500,000 visitors each year and is the undisputed home of etball and Hockey in Victoria whilst also hosting a number of other sporting activities including taekwondo, dodgeball, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, corporate sports and schools competitions.

Netball


Parkville: Melbourne Sports Centres features a number of indoor and outdoor netball facilities for training, casual use and competitions.

INDOOR MAIN STADIUM
The highly flexible main stadium is one of Victoria's premier event venues. With permanent seating for 1,800 and a maximum capacity of 3,050 the main hall is perfect for all kinds of events, not just netball.

The main stadium features sprung flooring, TV lighting, VIP spectator seating, briefing rooms and electronic scoreboards.

INDOOR SECONDARY HALL
The secondary hall features three sprung-floor netball courts, and can be used in conjunction with the main hall for larger events. The secondary hall is used for netball competitions, training and other sporting events.

Hockey


The State Netball Hockey Centre is Victoria's premier hockey venue. With two world-class pitches, a built in irrigation system that utilises recycled water, and a 1,000 seat undercover grandstand the pitches are used for a variety of sporting activities and events.

The pitches can be used for a variety of activities and events including:

STANDARDS
Both hockey pitches are recognised by the International Hockey Federation as holding FIH Global Accreditation. The main pitch is the premier hockey pitch in Victoria, featuring a 1000 seat undercover grandstand with an additional 2016 seat portable grandstand on the eastern embankment. The second pitch has a longer playing area to allow for Lacrosse, Grid Iron and a hockey warm up area, with a 250 seat grandstand.

The pitches can be used for a variety of activities and events including:

Getting Here


BY CAR
Located on Brens Drive, Royal Park, adjacent to the Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens (Melways Ref. Map 29 D12 or Map 2A H1). It is three kilometres from the CBD and easily accessible via Citylink.

There are 300 paved car parking spaces with an additional 250 car parking spaces available in the overflow areas adjacent. Please note that parking fees apply for major events.

As parking is limited, Parkville: Melbourne Sports Centres promotes the use of public transport, particularly to event patrons.

Bicycle racks are also available outside the main entrance of the centre.
