Professional Helicopter Services was established in 1981 by Ron Newman with a Hughes 300 helicopter as a part time training school in order to keep his instructing skills current.
At this time Ron was the Chief Helicopter Pilot and Chief Engineer for the Victoria Police Air Wing after setting it up with a twin engine Dauphin helicopter. The training school grew quickly, mainly due to Ron's background in the helicopter industry and his excellent reputation.

A popular route takes in the sea-front suburbs of Brighton and Sandringham and their famed sand-belt golf-courses, on the way to Albert Park and the city. A circuit of inner- Melbourne takes in the Rod Laver Arena, MCG, Flemington Racecourse, the Yarra river, Docklands and Crown Entertainment Complex before turning back toward St Kilda and Luna Park on our coastal return to Moorabbin Airport.
