Reset 2026 at Fed Square

Spring at Fed Square will put sustainability into practice as RESET 2026 encourages visitors to slow down, work with their hands and reconsider everyday habits.

Rather than treating environmental action as an abstract challenge, the festival focuses on approachable activities that people can try themselves. Small-group workshops will cover skills including textile repair and plant propagation, connecting waste reduction and biodiversity with practical knowledge that can continue at home.

The broader program will unfold throughout September and October, combining creative workshops with screenings, discussions and participatory artmaking. School holiday programming will give children and families additional ways to take part.

Repair, reuse and rethink

Circular living is a central theme of RESET, with zero waste specialists contributing ideas about reducing consumption, keeping materials in use and reconsidering what gets thrown away.

Textile repair workshops will introduce participants to techniques for extending the life of clothing and fabrics, while gardening sessions will turn attention to propagation and growing plants. Together, the activities offer tangible starting points for people interested in reducing waste or making more environmentally conscious choices.

RESET will also draw on First Nations knowledge, with knowledge holders sharing perspectives on caring for Country. The program places those conversations alongside contemporary approaches to circular economies, biodiversity and local environmental protection.

A slower kind of sustainability festival

RESET is also designed as an antidote to the increasingly digital pace of everyday life. In-person, analogue activities will encourage visitors to spend time making, learning and connecting with nature and other people without the pressure of turning sustainability into another task to complete.

That approach makes the festival accessible to people at different stages of thinking about their environmental impact. Visitors can join a workshop, attend a conversation or screening, make art with others or simply use the program as a starting point for changing an old habit.

The emphasis remains on achievable action: repairing rather than replacing, propagating rather than buying new, learning from different approaches to environmental care and considering how individual choices fit within larger questions about waste and biodiversity.

Planning a visit to RESET 2026

RESET 2026 will take place at Fed Square across September and October, with free events for adults, children and families and dedicated school holiday activities. Some small-group workshops may require visitors to plan ahead as individual program details and session arrangements are released.
