RMIT Occasional Choral Society: Elements of Music
RMIT Occasional Choral Society (ROCS) is excited to present "Elements of Music": the performance of the 2024 ROCS Occasional Choral Composition Competition (ROCCC) featuring original works by new and emerging Australian composers.
Since its inception in 2007 the ROCS Occasional Choral Composition Competition has given emerging composers a platform to have their work performed encouraging the creation of over 60 original works to date.
This concert continues that legacy offering a rare opportunity to hear fresh original choral music from some of Australia's most promising young composers.
This sixth edition of the ROCCC following a brief pause during the COVID pandemic will showcase 19 new compositions that delve into a range of emotional and thematic landscapes - from playful musical explorations to poignant reflections on freedom survival and legacy. This concert promises an inspiring mix of fresh voices and musical innovation.
