As first announced here in 2019, Surf 'n' Play Aquatic Park has been officially confirmed (2024) for Melbourne.
Surf 'n' Play Aquatic Park will be a sprawling, state-of-the-art water park in Dingley (South East Melbourne). Spanning a 38,200 square metres of indoor and outdoor space, it will be the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere.
From the same designers that brought us the Melbourne Aquarium and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), it's going to be big!

March 2019
In March 2019, Pellicano and Zagame released plans for a $100m water park in Dingley Village called Zagame's Wild Water Park.
The plans for Zagame's Wild Water Park included a unique, resort-style waterpark and complete family entertainment venue in the south-eastern suburb of Dingley Village.
The announcement claims it will be "the biggest waterpark in the Southern Hemisphere" with dozens of slides, a 423-metre long lazy river that will take guests underneath a massive freshwater aquarium, an interactive ski-slide and 180-degree surf pool.
Zagame later walked away leaving Pellicano to press ahead with it's plans for a $100 million water park.
We can't wait.. Go Pellicano !

The humble south-eastern suburb of Dingley Village will soon be home to a state-of-the-art wave park, pending council lodgment.
The park, known as SurfnPlay Aqua Park, will be the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, pumping out up to six waves per minute and as high as six feet with sectioned areas for beginners to your everyday Mick Fanning.
Along with the wave park as a major drawcard, SurfnPlay intends to appease big kids and little ones alike with several water jet-powered slides, water tunnels, a lazy river and even an aquarium.
After its initial lodgement for the mammoth project back in 2019, the Pellicano Group has addressed several items raised by key parties involved. What's resulted is 25% more landscaping in its design and double the amount of solar panels planned to power SurfnPlay Aqua Park.
The technology being used to create waves at such size and frequency comes from WhiteWater West, who is currently building a similar park in France. Once completed, Dingley Village's waterpark will be the only other place you'll be able to find these manmade waves
