Taskforce Community Agency

Taskforce Community Agency

Since 1973 TaskForce has provided specialist support for people in need across Melbourne.

The people who come to our services have experienced significant disadvantage or a crisis in their lives and as a result they are prevented from reaching their potential. Many have fallen through the cracks and all too often have been placed in the too hard basket. They are people who have a range of complex needs, or a single need with a high level of severity. Our services include youth, adults and families.

At TaskForce, we believe that the chronic addiction, unemployment and homelessness experienced by our clients are typically the result of deeper, often long-term issues and circumstances. We believe that the key to breaking the cycle in their lives is to start by helping them deal with the circumstances that led to their current situation.

Task Force is committed to offering non-judgmental and non-threatening help to our clients, many of whom have nowhere else to turn. We provide personal support, counselling, support groups, outreach, as well as training and job preparation programmes. These services are designed to increase the client's self-belief and ultimately to help them help themselves.

We believe that when the underlying issues are addressed and then access is provided to the right resources, the cycle of unemployment and addiction is more likely to be broken, effectively and for the long term. Since our humble beginnings 34 years ago TaskForce has changed and grown, and has auspiced other organisations. Today, our core values and mission remain unchanged with a strong focus on work with young people and families experiencing issues with addiction and unemployment. We operate from 6 Metropolitan locations in Melbourne. Our head office remains in Prahran, with offices in Moorabbin, Northcote, Cranbourne, Packenham and Frankston.

Together we can make a difference.
