Top Of The Block

Season 12 | The Block, hosted by Scott Cam and Shelley Craft.

It's big, it's old, it's beautiful, it's from the 1920's, it's art deco and Port Melbourne is the new location for season 12 of The Block.

Channel 9 bought the former Symex soap factory, built in the 1920's from Harry Stamoulis for $5 million.

Who will be Top Of The Block?

Melbourne Will and Karlie

Melbourne Ben and Andy

Melbourne Chris and Kim

Melbourne Dan and Carleen

Melbourne Julia and Sasha

A series where reality meets renovation - The Block, hosted by Scott Cam, offers an around the clock view of what happens when you take determined couples, rundown apartments, give them equal-sized budgets and just weeks to out design and out-renovate each other to see who becomes the ultimate winner and walks away with their prize.

164 INGLES STREET, PORT MELBOURNE

It is always an exciting time waiting to see the apartments being completed on every series of The Block. Every year there are some new renovation trends and ideas which are showcased by the contestants on The Block.

We have seen a lot of different rooms and apartments in bidding on all seven Melbourne series of The Block, bidding on 26 of the 31 apartments that have been auctioned. Though we have always given our client's professional advice to stick to our budgets and limits and not get carried away with the emotion of an auction and have successfully purchased 5 apartments on the big Auction Grand Finales.

The most popular series to date with our buyers was Dux House, 47 O'Grady St, Albert Park which our buyers loved because of the blue chip A1 Albert Park location. They also loved the art deco features and heritage timeless appeal of the building. We bid on all four apartments and successfully purchased the winning Block apartment again, which was Steve and Chantelle's north facing apartment. We had three disappointed buyers and many others who we couldn't bid for that would have loved to secure one of the deco apartments.

Though, we had a delighted homebuyer that still enjoys living their today with their young family. My professional doctor clients and their young child love everything about the apartment and location. We look forward to taking many buyers that missed out on Dux House, Albert Park through this new art deco building, a former soap factory on Ingles St, Port Melbourne. It will be exciting seeing the bigger spaces as these apartments are approximately 200 square metres internally compared to 160 square metres in Albert Park.

Many of our past buyers are keen to see the roof top communal entertaining terrace which will have amazing 360⁰ bay and city views. Many of the apartments are expected to have some park or city views which is always a big bonus and popular feature.

Again there will be five apartments to choose from this series and I am sure the art deco features including the high ceilings and heritage features will again result in a combination of investors and homebuyers bidding against us again on auction day at our 8th series later this year. We look forward to seeing the former soap factory taking shape into some special apartments with a WOW factor

The Block | Cricket

You can't have your cake and eat it too Channel 9.

Channel 9's coverage of the test cricket in Perth has made thousands of Block fans very angry.

Channel 9 chose to show the cricket in preference to The Block but it's biggest insult was to broadcast The Block Grand Final reveals show on Monday (7/11/2016) when the cricket finished early, after advertising for days that it would be on Tuesday night (9/11/2016).

The Block Facebook page is advertising the Grand Final reveals show will be shown on Tuesday night 8th November 2016.
The countdown to Auction Day is on!
#9TheBlock | TONIGHT 7.30

General programming has deteriorated badly in recent years with networks favouring its advertisers over its viewers. Many shows run overtime, so badly in some cases that extended recording fails to record the end of shows. Survivors fans are furious with shows telecast later and later at night, so late after a movie on Thursday 3rd November that everyone either missed it or failed to record the final minutes of a blindside and not see who was voted out.

Its time networks placed their viewers and advertisers customers before its scheduling debacles.

Issues

Sledge: Channel 9 has let down EVERY Block fan by showing the room reveals the night before it advertised the show, and then did not repeat the epdisode on the night it advertised.

Typical feedback: I am a Block fan, but I have to say that I was totally pissed that in the finals week of the Block you broadcast the show on Monday night when it was advertised to begin on Tuesday night. Thanks to a stupid decision I missed the final reveal and I'm sure I'm not the only fan who was disappointed.

The Block Facebook page says: we just couldn't wait to show you our Final Room Reveals, we're sorry you missed it! But you can catch up on the Reveals with our encore at 1.30pm TODAY (Tuesday) on Channel 9, or with 9Now.
