The historic Carlton Hotel building is home to four unique bars; The Carlton, Hasti Bala and two tropical rooftops Palmz Rooftop and Palmz Deck.
Behind our bars a hand picked wine selection, funky cocktails, and lots of beers on tap await you. We invite you to explore our diverse spaces designed for sipping and sky gazing.
THE CARLTON BAR BALCONY & DINING ROOM
On level one, you will find The Carlton bar, a wildly decadent and dimly-lit space overseen by Wally the Ostrich and Gerald the Giraffe.
Also known as The Carlton Club: Cosy up in one of our private booths or lose yourself under the night sky from our luscious outdoor balcony.
The bar is open seven days per week and features DJs five nights a week. On Friday nights catch resident DJs Slippery Slopes, Cliftonia, Harley and Ben&Lil playing an eclectic mix of cosmic baselines and beats. On Saturday evenings resident DJs Kista, Beth Grace and DJ Demize fuel your evening with funk, soul, house and hip-hop into the early hours.

HASTI BALA BAR
Hasti Bala on the third floor certainly makes a statement. Providing a wild jungle labyrinth of velvet booths, verdant tropical vines and an elephant head framed DJ booth - you won't be short of conversations starters! There's something intimate about Hasti Bala that creates a feeling the night could go any which way.
Adjoining Hasti Bala is Palmz Deck allowing Hasti Bala to expand and create an indoor/outdoor tropical jungle paradise.
PALMZ DECK
Enter Palmz Deck and make believe you are on a tropical getaway. A thatched-roof bar surrounded by luscious green plants add to the island-like atmosphere, except there is no beach to be found, only you floating worlds away from the hurried city streets below. Retractable roof awnings are ready to shield you from a looming Melbourne downpour so you can stay sipping until the stars come back out. Best experienced on a balmy evening with a cocktail at the ready for a true moment of escapism.
PALMZ ROOFTOP
A secluded hideaway to escape and unwind, Palmz Rooftop is indeed one of the best rooftops in Melbourne and a favourite among locals and visitors alike. Tropical flora juxtaposes the city skyline where you and your friends will be served toasty treats under our heaters in winter and sip on ice-cool cocktail jugs under a summer sky. Palmz Rooftop is definitely worth climbing the stairs for!
