The Duke | Duke of Wellington Hotel

Melbourne's oldest hotel is now open!
Duke of Wellington Hotel

Established in 1853, the oldest licensed pub in Melbourne has a rich history as a social destination for Melburnians.

Recently re-opened after extensive renovations, The Duke occupies a prominent position in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. We're located opposite The Forum and within easy walking distance of Federation Square, Flinders Street Station and the famous MCG sporting precinct.

The Duke has had many colourful licensees, including football hero Brian 'the Whale' Roberts. The saying 'Have an ale with the Whale' resonates strongly with many Melburnians and is just one of the many pieces of history that have contributed to The Duke's iconic reputation.

Offering modern bar, restaurant and function facilities, plus a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, The Duke is a true Melbourne pub icon.
