The Gertrude Hotel |
The Gertrude Hotel has undergone a complete Studio 54-esque makeover thanks to iconic Melbourne party legend, Tracey Lester.
Returning to her native stomping ground, Lester has created all of the venue's interiors, lights and logos giving the Gertrude Hotel an additional eclectic flair that draws in diners from across Melbourne, whilst its casual menu offers a regular drop-in spot for locals.
The extensive menu by Serradan Sharp (ex-Press Club, Maze) includes accessibly-priced pub staples like fried calamari with smoked yoghurt and whole roast chicken with pickled sweetcorn and sweetcorn puree. The menu also indulges Fitzroy's favourites, like Comte fritters and charcoal roasted Skull Island prawns with Ndjua butter. Ever dreamed of Kingfish? The cured Kingfish has become a fast favourite with diners, with a tangy citrus dressing and yogurt drizzle.
Located at the city end of Fitzroy, the Gertrude Hotel provides a vibrant intersection of art and hospitality, designed to immerse customers in a bright, kooky yet glamorous fantasy world.
