The Pier Festival Calls it a day!
It is with sadness that we announce that the iconic New Year's Eve event The Pier Festival will not be running in 2014 and beyond. Although it is an amazing event held in the hearts of many Geelong locals, the event will not be proceeding due to a lack of funding.
Although the EMC Group tries wherever possible to align itself with Geelong events and to work closely with the City of Greater Geelong, after years of absorbing losses we have had to withdraw from running this event.
We would like to thank all those that have supported us, especially City of Greater Geelong as major sponsor in developing an event that we are proud to have developed over a 10 year period.
Over the past few years there have been thousands of people on the waterfront to celebrate the New Year and we have been informed by City of Greater Geelong that the New Year's Eve fireworks will still be undertaken on Geelong's Waterfront. For more information on this contact the City of Greater Geelong Events Department.
We again thank all that have been involved with this event over the years and wish you all great success for the year to come.
