Situated in Southbank, the heart of the arts precinct in Melbourne, The Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre is a six-level building built as the Australian Ballet Centre and opened in 1988.
The Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre offers eight spacious studios, gymnasium, Pilates studio, library, classrooms, dressing rooms with laundry facilities, and the Dancers' Deli (operated by The Australian Ballet Society), which caters to the special dietary needs of the students, staff and Company dancers.
The Centre also houses medical and physiotherapy facilities which the students may access as required, as well as a student common room with internet access.
The Australian Ballet
On level five, both The Australian Ballet and The Australian Ballet School dancers and students share eight first-class studios, spacious dressing rooms (with showers and laundry facilities), audio-visual rooms, a library, class rooms, common rooms, a medical clinic, a gym and a canteen. Modern offices and staff rooms are also provided for both the teachers and administration staff.
The wardrobe and workrooms of the production department are situated on level four. The office of The Australian Ballet Society, another associated organisation, is also situated on this level.
The facilities occupied by The Australian Ballet and The Australian Ballet School on levels four and five are continually being upgraded to ensure the centre continues to be the appropriate home of Australia's national ballet company.

Take the pedestrian bridge behind the Arts Centre or the lift from Kavanagh Street.

The closest tram stop is the Arts Centre tram stop on St Kilda Road, just south of Princes Bridge.
By foot:
From St Kilda Road - Walk around to the back of The Arts Centre Building to the pedestrian bridge leading into The Australian Ballet Centre. Once inside The Australian Ballet Centre, take the elevator to Level 5.
By vehicle:
The centre is accessible by car from Kavanagh Street and there is a car park on site. For car park rates and information contact (03) 9669 2553. Limited nearby street parking is also available.
